I don’t know about you, but doing my own nails at home is something I dread.  Yes it saves money, but it’s so darn hard to stay in the lines!  I must not be the only one, because Nails, Inc. has created the first spray on nail polish!  How cool!

You have to put on a base coat first and then spray away!  You can wash off the excess polish with soapy warm water.

It has already launched in the UK (and sold out on the website!), but Nails Inc. has a waiting list for US consumers to join to get first dibs once it launches in March 2016!  There’s only two colors available right now, a neon pink and a silver, but hopefully there will be more variety as it gets more popular!

Sooooo, how about that $675 nail polish for Christmas?

Yes, Christian Louboutin makes a limited edition nail polish that cost almost 7 hundos. But why you ask?  Well the bottle itself is made with 1,500 hand applied Strass crystals. The polish itself, called “Starlight”, matches the same signature red seen on the bottoms of the famous shoes.   If you want an un-crystalized bottle, CL sells a cheaper version for $50 here.

Come get it while it lasts, the designer has only produced 1,000 bottles.  You can buy here at Sephora.  There is one review so SOMEBODY bought it.  And I quote, “Slightly pricey, but worth the money.”

How long does your regular nail polish usually last you?   5 days?  Max?  I know mine starts chipping after a few days.  Well have no fear, Sally Hansen is coming to the rescue!

I may be a little late to the trend, but last week, I tried Sally Hansen’s Salon Effects Nail Polish strips for the first time.  So easy to put on!  They give you a few different sizes so you will be able to fit them onto your nails no matter how large or small they may be.  Once they’re on, you sort of file around the “sticker” and the excess comes off smoothly.

I have to say, doing my nails was sort of relaxing for the first time.  No drying time and no hard focus to make sure the paint goes on even.  Took 10 mins and voila…done!  No drying!

So far it’s been a week and they still look great.  Just a few minor chips and the regular nail growth.  They were 9.99 at CVS (sort of pricey), but I was able to get more on Amazon for about $4 bucks!  Totally worth it.  The downside is the lack of options.  At least for me, some of the designs were sort of meh.  I’m not a fan of skulls or butterflies on my nails, but if you look hard, you can find more subtle and contemporary designs.  Mine was called “The Bold Rush”  It’s a gold to purple ombre.

Get Your Nails Did

What’s the nail trend these days?  Why nudes, neons, and pastels!   And I love them all!  I’m soaking up all the colors I can before fall arrives..then it’s off to navy blues and purples!

Neons – Try American Apparel Neon Nail Polish $6.00

Nudes – Try Butter London $14.00

Pastels – Try Essie $8.00

My favorite trend of all though is the ring finger nail trend.  Originating from the runways of Vivienne Westwood and nail connoisseur, Leighton Denny, the trend is that the ring finger is different from the rest of the nails…it is painted with a contrasting, accent, patterned or even glitter color!  For me, instead of a top coat, I’ll give my ring finger a sheen of glitter.  Gives new meaning to bling on your finger!  Come on, everybody’s doing it!

Beyonce

What do you think of this trend?
