Where am I?
I’m wandering in Kyoto, Japan. This beautiful city was once the capital of Japan before Tokyo in 1868 and residence of the Emperor. At first glance, a sprawling metropolis, visitors must seek to find the hidden beauty that is Kyoto. Full of temples, imperial palaces and shrines, Kyoto was one of the few cities to escape the bombings of World War II. Escape into history and explore many World Heritage sites here under their renowned cherry blossoms. Just a short bullet train ride from Tokyo (just a little over 2 hours), Kyoto is definitely a must-see on a tour of Japan.
